     As we move through the month of October, one of the things I've been thinking about is how many saints we get to celebrate this month.  We started off with Saint Therese of Lisieux on October 1, the very young ​Carmelite sister who devoted her life to the "little way".   The we had the feast of our Guardian Angels, and then Our Lady of the Rosary who was attributed the miraculous victory in 1571 at the Battle of Lepanto.  There's on October 15, we celebrate St. Teresa of Avila, a personal favorite of mine, who gives us a look at the soul's movement through the interior life of God.  October 17 is the feast of St. Ignatius, a church father who wrote letters regarding the sacraments as we know them today.  On October 22nd we celebrate St. John Paul II, the pope who many of us remember by his writings on love, the human person, and his famous exhortation to the youth of our time to, "be not afraid!"  Saints John of Capistrano and St. Anthony Mary Claret follow after.  Then we celebrate the Apostles Simon and Jude at the end of the month.

     My thought is that October brings an amazing opportunity to live out the spirituality of these saints.  Even if we just see what they said, or read what they wrote.  My encouragement is to enter into the month, spiritually with the saints.
